The annual KCMBF Liberty & Justice Gala is the primary fundraising event in support of Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Foundation (KCMBF) and its Legal Connection programs: Domestic Violence Alliance, Military Matters, and Student Law Academy. This exclusive, formal event features a cocktail hour, dinner, auction, and presentation to recognize and celebrate the great volunteer work performed by lawyers in the Kansas City community. During the Gala, the Jack L. Campbell Legacy Award is given in recognition of the recipient's dedication to the principles of liberty and justice through exemplary professional, civic, and community service.

Jack L. Campbell Legacy Award

The Jack L. Campbell Legacy Award was created in 2003 and originally named the Liberty & Justice Legacy Award. During the annual Liberty & Justice Gala, the Jack L. Campbell Legacy Award is given in recognition of the recipient's dedication to the principles of liberty and justice through exemplary professional, civic, and community service. In November 2019, the KCMBF Board of Directors passed a Resolution changing the name of the Liberty & Justice Legacy Award to the Jack L. Campbell Legacy Award in honor of Jack's significant contributions to our legal community, following his death in 2019.

KCMBF has plans for growth in helping the community: Domestic Violence Alliance plans to cover the cost of continuing education credits for all its participants from various professions; Military Matters is exploring the possibility of a national expansion of its program; and Student Law Academy has developed a Pre-Law Fellowship for Scholars to cover the cost of the LSAT, test-prep courses, and law school application fees. To continue this unparalleled growth for such worthy causes, we need your help!
